What is the difference between a biography and a memoir?
There is a lot in this question. Although this could be a book in and of itself, we will answer from the perspective of NBLW.

Biographies and autobiographies are a factual account of someone’s entire life. Memoirs can be about someone’s whole life experience or highlight sections of it. Memoirs are thematic and allow for the inclusion of feelings and story arc. They should resemble a great novel that allows for the reader to connect with the protagonist and other characters.

Contrary to mainstream thinking, an effective memoir does not have to only be told from a first person point of view. It can be in whatever voice the author partner (you) prefers.

NBLW does not assist with biographies or autobiographies. Maintaining our brand as a company that exists to tell your STORY because it matters, we focus on memoirs and memoir like writing.

What is proxy writing and how is it different from ghostwriting?
Ghostwriting shows you exclusively as the author even though someone else wrote the words. At NBLW we are your partner. Proxy means giving authority to another. We are honored that you allow us to listen to your memories and give us the permission to craft them into engaging written stories. Your account will be “by” you and your assigned author.
Do I own the rights to stories written by Nerdy Bird Legacy Writing?
Absolutely. This is your story. If it becomes a movie or television show, YOU OWN IT. We only ask that we can use the title of your worldwide sensation to brag a little on NBLW when it goes viral. Why? Because we are a bit nerdy. 🙂
Is any artificial intelligence (AI) used at NBLW?
Never. Even as artificial intelligence improves, we do not believe it can ever replace the creativity of the human spirit and mind. Furthermore, AI is only as good as what it has taken from what people write—much of it stolen without permission. This is a practice we believe to be an ethical challenge. For us, genuine human connection still matters and always will.
Why are your prices more than companies I see on television?
Those companies aren’t bad but they ARE different from NBLW. With budget story services, you are doing the work by answering provided questions. YOUR WRITTEN ANSWERS are printed as a collection. That may be enough for you. However, if you want stories professionally edited and creatively enhanced by experienced writers that evoke feelings and maintain thematic direction, NBLW is the better choice.
Why are you prices tens of 1000's dollars less than most ghostwriting companies?
The best we can do with this answer is say that they are likely focusing on a different kind of client demographic. Often executives and celebrities want a book to help advance their careers. When this is the motivation, things can get expensive fast. At NBLW, we have diligently determined all expected costs and determined package prices with which we are comfortable. You may be an executive or a celebrity, but to us you are person with a story that matters. We seek to offer levels of service attainable to you while sustaining those who dedicate their time as employees of Nerdy Bird Legacy Writing.
Can I order larger volumes of printed books than the package?
Yes and no. NBLW prints small volume runs (20 copies or less) in house to bring you the best price possible. We have printing partners for anything over that amount. If you prefer to seek your own printing solution, we can send the raw data as long as the product wording is not altered once it is finalized.
Why don’t you offer remote classes?
Connection matters. At NBLW, we believe the most effective way to learn is in person with an instructor. Remote may be more convenient, but making the time, travel, and financial investment is, in our opinion, more effective. Classes can be scheduled anywhere within the continental US. We may, however, ask for your help garnering enough attendees.
